Doctoral Study Sub-programme, Faculty of Chemical Engineering

Overview

The sub-programme Drugs and Biomaterials of the PhD study programme Synthesis and Production of Drugs is pursued at three faculties of UCT Prague: Faculty of Chemical Technology, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, and Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology. The sub-programme covers the following research areas: medicinal chemistry, analysis of drugs, study of the structure of solid pharmaceutical substances, investigation of inorganic and polymeric materials for biomedical applications, process engineering in pharmaceutical industry, and information science in medicinal chemistry. The graduates of the sub-programme Drugs and Biomaterials of the PhD study programme Synthesis and Production of Drugs gain – according to orientation of their PhD project and PhD thesis – strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills in aforementioned branches in question.

Careers

The graduates find jobs in basic and applied research in academe, in R&D and QA in chemical and pharmaceutical industry, and in governments’ laboratories and offices all around the world. Their education and training predestine them for senior and executive positions.
