The aplication of methods used for water and wastewater analysis in laboratory are discussed in this course. Students become acquainted with steps af analytical procedures, interferences, methods of sample pretreatment, calculations and interpretation of results. Attention is paid to the choice of analytical method for concrete analyte and to the processing of the data gained and its evaluation in final protocol.


1. Titrations methods. Chloride. Submission of project.

2. Preparation of calibration.

3. Conductivity,pH value. Carbon dioxide. Determination and interpretation of results. Calcium and magnesium.

4. Spectrometric determination ammonia, nitrite, phosphorus and silica.

5. Ion dissolved matter, sulphate and nitrate.

6. CODMn. Iron and manganese.

7. Content of inorganic solids, total, dissolved and no-dissolved matters.

8. Oxygen and chlorine.


10. Cyanide. Total nitrogen and phosphorus. Phenols.

11. Sampling and conservation. Reagent water.

12. Sensory classification of water.

13. Classification of project.

14. Safety and protection of health at work.
