Pleasant Places for Studying
Respiria for Study and Relaxation
In building B there are two study rooms called Respirium. Both offer seating, drawers and plenty of light.
Respirium I (map), on the ground floor to the right of the main entrance, is large and you will find tables and chairs in it, for studying or perhaps eating lunch – there is, among other things, a microwave, kettle and vending machines with small snacks. You can also use the shack for storing clothes and luggage here, and you can also buy school promotional items in the same place
Board games, occasional concerts and orchestra rehearsals are also held here regularly.
Respirium I is open during the semester from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (collecting items from the locker room until 6:30 p.m.).
- During the examination period, the staff presence time may be reduced (always indicated on the door)
- During the holidays, the staff is not present, but the Respirium is usually accessible
- During events, access to the Respirium may be restricted
The new Respirium II (map) is located in the back of building B on the 1st floor (near the study offices, entrance from Zikova Street). It is smaller, equipped with armchairs and sofas, and thus provides, in addition to the possibility of quiet preparation for the lecture, a cosy place to relax. You will find vending machines with small snacks and coffee on the floor above.
In the Fresh Air
When you need oxygen, the school offers two courtyards where you can sit, replenish your vitamin D and relax with a view of the blue sky.
U komína (By the Chimney) – in building B, next to Carbon; if you ride a bike, you can lock your bike right here (ask the receptionist).
Apsida – in building A, opposite room AS68 (from U Miláčka buffet, go down the stairs and to the left before you come across the door to the courtyard on the left). When the weather is nice, various cultural events take place here, but you can always study here (you can also use the whiteboard).
Classroom K1 to Reserve
For teamwork, working on projects, discussing lectures or tutoring, you can book classroom K1 on the 3rd floor of building B (map). The classroom has space for 10 people, a projector and a blackboard.
You can make a reservation in the calendar of the mailex application - see instructions on the intranet. At the time of reservation, the key can be picked up at the gatehouse of building B. Don't forget your ISIC or school card for identification.
National Technical Library
The National Technical Library, abbreviated as NTK, is the unrivalled best place for learning on the Dejvice campus. Directly opposite building A stands an oval building full of articles, books and publications, modern architecture, and mainly places to sit and study.
Registration is not required to enter NTK, but it is useful – it is free (with a valid school card or ISIC) and thanks to it you can use all the services that the library offers, especially borrowing publications, printing, reserving study places, etc.
For group learning, it is possible to rent a team study room on the 4th to 6th floor for 4 to 10 people. The reservation is made through the NTK reservation system and the entry then works on the ISIC / ID card of the person who booked the room.
If you are looking for peace of mind for independent study, there is also the option of booking an individual study room for just one person. But beware, they are often fully booked, so you better book ahead of time and cancel the reservation responsibly if you know you won't use it.
Computers at School
You can find freely accessible computers in room B1-238 (1st floor of building B, part of Zikova, between classroom B15 and Respirium II). A student card is required to enter the room.

Where to Eat?
Some live to eat, some eat to live. Studying is calorie-intensive, so food is a must.
Canteens
Buffets at School
If you're hungry after a lecture, you can find a buffet in every building right in the school. In it you can buy baguettes, sandwiches, panini, toast, salads, pastries, cookies, but also soup and of course coffee and other drinks; in building B also small school supplies. Buffets are open most of the day and you can pay in cash or by card.

The Carbon Club
The basement of Building B (to the left from the main entrance) houses the Carbon Student Club. In addition to small snacks, good beer and coffee, it regularly hosts PubQuiz and other social events. It's tradition to celebrate the test with a one or two beers in Carbon. The club is thus the best place for strengthening contacts and friendships.
Vending Machines
Vending machines with snacks, baguettes, cold drinks and coffee and tea are located in both buildings. Most accept cards and are regularly replenished.
You can find them in building B in Respirium I, by the stairs next to classroom B25 above Respirium II, at both entrances from Technická Street, above Carbon, at the entrance from Zikova Street; and in building A next to the U Miláčka buffet.
Restaurants and Cafes
The location of the Dejvické Campus makes hunting for lunch a lot easier. There are many restaurants, fast food and cafes nearby. So a trip for food is more of a diversion and a break from studying than a grueling expedition. You can find tips on the map at the bottom of the page.
