Chemistry and Technology (Faculty of Chemical Technology)
At the Faculty of Chemical Technology, students may focus their professional profiles towards specialized fields: the production and properties of metals, glass, or ceramic materials; plastics and rubber; biocompatible materials; and nano- or submicron-scale structured materials. Students can also focus on a more theoretical programme exceeding the scope of the foundational programme. During the course of the programme, students choose one of three specializations offered.
Careers
The main aim of this programme is to prepare graduates for Master studies in related branches at UCT Prague or at universities abroad (the latter option is facilitated by the opportunity to obtain a EuroBachelor degree upon graduation). Graduates are prepared for qualified positions in specialized workplaces such as production plants in the metallurgical, glass-making, ceramics, polymers, automotive, and other industries. Graduates also find qualified jobs in research and development institutions and laboratories.

Specialisation - Chemical Technology
The Chemical Technology programme focuses on deepening knowledge in chemical technology (inorganic and organic) or in pharmaceutical technology and synthesis. In addition to the common foundation programme, students can focus on the study of new types of energy sources, catalysis, raw materials treatment, the production processes for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and other specialized interests.

This specialization focuses on the study of relations between the chemical structure and physical properties of materials. Students deepen their knowledge of the properties, application, and processing aspects of glass and ceramics, metals and alloys, plastics and rubber, materials for electronics, or composite structures. Students can also learn about materials corrosion and prevention, the application of hybrid and biomaterials, and the surface functionalization of materials.

At the Faculty of Environmental Technology, studies cover all fundamental areas of chemistry and environmental chemistry and all related disciplines such as ecology, hydrochemistry, wastewater treatment, atmospheric chemistry, and environmental microbiology. The principle of sustainable development represents an important part of the study curriculum with a special emphasis on its biological, chemical, and technological aspects.
Careers
The main aim of this study programme is to prepare graduates for Master studies at UCT Prague as well as for qualified positions in specialized workplaces. Graduates have excellent theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and experience in basic natural scientific disciplines. Due to a broad selection of semi-optional and elective courses, graduates of the programme can pursue careers in many branches of human activity. Graduates find employment in administrative institutions; in industrial and agriculture companies; in research, development and design institutions; and in customs and transportation companies. They are prepared for positions in the communication media sector requiring an engineering approach to ecological problems as well as for managerial positions.
Students can choose one of two specializations offered by this faculty.
Specialisation - Fuels processing and utilization
In addition to the core study programme, students focus on fuel production, analysis, and power engineering (including nuclear) with respect to related pollution control. Theoretical lectures are augmented by practical laboratory training in fuel analysis.

At the Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology, students direct their studies either to biochemistry, microbiology, and biotechnology or to food chemistry, food analysis, nutrition, and food technologies on the other side by properly selecting optional courses.

The main aim of this study programme is to prepare graduates for further Master studies in related branches at UCT Prague or for qualified positions in specialized workplaces. Graduates have excellent theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and experience in basic natural scientific disciplines. Graduates are qualified for jobs in biotechnological and food companies, in nutrition-oriented fields, in environmental protection institutions, and in health care and pharmaceutical enterprises. They can also find positions in company laboratories, in supervisory and monitoring agencies, and in trade and administration.
